Factory Reset Protection

Use the Factory Reset Protection profile configuration to control which users can unlock a device following a factory reset. This protects your company data from unauthorized access.

SOTI MobiControl requires a Google ID to specify authorized Google accounts. A Google ID is not the same thing as a Google user name or email address. See Retrieving your Google ID for instructions to retrieve a Google ID from a Google account.

Important: You must use the Wipe device action to factory reset your devices. If you manually factory reset a device, it bypasses the step of asking the user to input specific credentials and moves straight to the initial device setup process.

Assigning the Factory Reset Protection profile configuration restricts the device from being factory reset through the Settings app or Android recovery.
