Assigning a Compliance Policy
About this task
Assign a compliance policy to devices to indicate which devices should follow this policy to determine compliance. You can assign a compliance policy immediately after creating it or create a compliance policy and then assign it separately later.
Note: You can assign multiple compliance policies to the same device. The device is deemed non-compliant if it meets the criteria of one compliance policy, even if it passes all the rest.
To assign a compliance policy to devices:
Procedure
-
In the Compliance Policies view, click on a compliance policy's name to open its Compliance Policy Information panel and click the Assign button from the Compliance Policy Actions list.
You can also click > Assign beside the compliance policy. The Assign dialog box opens - see Assign (Compliance Policy).
- On the Devices tab of the Assign dialog box, select the device groups or devices that you want the compliance policy to target.
- Optional: Move to the Users tab to refine which devices within the selected device groups are assigned the compliance policy. Select one or more directory service or identity provider (IdP) groups to specify that devices belonging to that group are either included or excluded from the compliance policy assignment.
- Optional:
Move to the Filters tab to define filter criteria that further refines which devices receive the compliance policy.
Filter criteria use the same filtering logic as the Devices view search. You can use a limited set of device and extended properties to create filters.
- When you're finished, click Assign.
Results
The new compliance policy is now active. It will run on a device each time the device checks in to SOTI MobiControl. You can also run it immediately on all its target devices with the Run compliance policy action.
