Updating SOTI MobiControl XAS Certificates

About this task

The SOTI MobiControl XAS certificate authenticates the Enterprise Resource Gateway requests sent to SOTI MobiControl. The XAS certificate is valid for five years after it is generated.

To update the SOTI MobiControl XAS certificate:

Procedure

  1. Delete the current enterprise resource gateway (ERG) connection from your SOTI MobiControl instance.
    1. In the SOTI MobiControl, open Servers from the main menu.
    2. Right-click on the ERG connection and select Delete
  2. Delete both the expired XAS certificate and SOTI MobiControl root certificate from the computer where ERG is installed.
    The default location of the XAS certificate is inside Personal folder of windows certificate store. The default location of the Root certificate is inside Trusted root certificate folder of Windows certificate store.
  3. Install a new version of the SOTI MobiControl root certificate. Follow the instructions at Configuring the SOTI MobiControl Root Certificate for ERG.
  4. Download and set up ERG. Follow the instructions at Installing ERG.
  5. Copy mcxas.ini from C:\Program Files (x86)\SOTI\XAS and paste it into C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv, replacing the existing file in that folder.
  6. Copy Soti.MobiControl.ProxyFilter.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\SOTI\XAS and paste it into C:\inetpub\wwwroot\bin, replacing the existing file in that folder.
  7. Configure ERG. Follow the instructions at Configuring ERG.
  8. Restart the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) and verify that ERG has been properly configured.
