Using Device Actions

About this task

You can select an action you want to perform on a device either on the device action bar or in the device information panel. The action will be performed the next time the device is in contact with SOTI Connect.

Note: If the action changes a value on the device, the device must check in to receive the new value.

To select a device action:

Procedure

  1. On the menu bar, click the menu button and select Devices.
    The Devices view opens.
  2. In the left pane, select the device group that contains the device on which you want to perform an action.
    The devices in the selected group appear in the right pane.
  3. In the right pane, do one of the following:
    • Click the selection button beside the device or devices on which you want to perform an action. The device action bar appears.
    • Click the device name of the device on which you want to perform an action. The device information panel opens.
  4. On the device action bar, or in the device information panel, click the More button to open the Device Actions menu.
  5. On the Device Actions menu, select the action you want to perform on the device.

Results

The selected action will be performed on the device the next time the device is in contact with SOTI Connect.
