Managed Google Play

The Managed Google Play feature enables you to control how device users update Managed Google Play apps on their devices. Perform this configuration when:

Application Updates

Application Updates Select an option to determine if and when device users can update their Managed Google Play apps:
  • Allow User to Configure: Device user controls when the app is updated
  • Always Update: App is auto-updated
  • Never Update: App is never auto-updated
  • Update on Wi-Fi Only: App is auto-updated only while the device is connected to Wi-Fi

Maintenance Window

This section is available for Work Managed and Work Profile devices.

Setting Description
Maintenance Window

Toggle on to define a maintenance window. This setting ignores the following requirements for Google app updates during the specified window:

  • The device is charging
  • The device is idle (not actively used)
  • The app to be updated is not running in the foreground
Note: The device can receive app updates outside the maintenance window if it meets the specified requirements listed.
Starting Set the start time for the maintenance window.
Ending Set the end time for the maintenance window.

Application Feedback

Setting Description
Application Feedback Enable this option to collect feedback logs from Managed Google Play applications pushed through SOTI MobiControl.
Note: There may be a delay in receiving the latest application feedback.

Google Play App Availability

Important: Not supported for Android Management API (AMAPI).
Setting Description
Whitelist

Enable this option to limit the user to applications defined in your app policy for Google Play.

All Enable this option to provide the user with full access to Google Play.
