Lockdown (Android Enterprise)
Device lockdown replaces the standard device home screen with a customizable home screen that provides access only to authorized applications and websites.
Device Control
Custom Home Screen
Click Add to add a home screen item to the lockdown profile configuration. Home screen items are the authorized apps that will be available when a device is in lockdown mode. Device Control home screen items and Speed Control home screen items are entirely separate from each other. If you're using both Device Control and Speed Control and you want to use the same home screen items for both, you must enter information for them in both places.
Choose a lockdown template that determines how your home screen items are displayed on the device. You can use a predefined template provided by SOTI MobiControl or create your own template.
Lockdown Settings
Select the type of device control lockdown you want on the device.
Lockdown Type | Choose either Native or Activity Suppression as your lockdown type.
Native prevents applications from launching or running in the background unless they are explicitly allowed by the active Lockdown policy. Activity Suppression moves all undesired activities from the foreground to the background of the device where users cannot access them. |
Floating Home Button | When disable, the home button that normally floats on the Lockdown home screen is hidden.
This option is visible when Native is the selected Lockdown type. |
System Information | When enabled, system information such as time, data, and battery level are displayed in the device status bar.
Supported on Android 9.0 or later. This option is visible when Native is the selected Lockdown type. |
Native Notifications | When enabled, notifications for authorized applications appear on the device. Notifications include notification icons in the status bar and heads-up notifications. Device users can also pull down the notification shade to see more information and interact with the notification.
Supported on Android 9.0 or later. This option is visible when Native is the selected Lockdown type. |
Recents Button | When enabled, the Recent apps button is shown.
Supported on Android 9.0 or later. This option is visible when Native is the selected Lockdown type. |
Allow Status Bar Expansion | When enabled, the device user is allowed to expand the status bar.
This option is visible when Activity Suppression is the selected Lockdown type. |

Advanced Speed Control Settings
Activation Time | Specify the starting time during each day that you want speed control to potentially be active on the device. |
Deactivation Time | Specify the ending time during each day when you want speed control to potentially be active on the device. |
Speed control starts at | Enter the speed at which speed control will be triggered, and the speed measurement unit.
Note: When the device travels at or above this speed, speed lockdown will not be applied until the time specified in the Engage Timer field has expired.
|
Engage Timer | Enter the time (in seconds) during which the device travels at or above the threshold speed before speed lockdown is applied. This delay helps prevent the excessive applying of speed lockdown. |
Disengage Timer | Enter the time (in seconds) during which the device travels below the threshold speed before speed lockdown is removed. This delay helps prevent the excessive removal of speed lockdown. |
Scripts | You can set scripts to activate when a device enters or exits speed control. To add a new script, click Scripts to open the Manage Scripts dialog box. |
Speed Control is activated | Select the script you want executed on the device when speed lockdown is applied. |
Speed Control is deactivated | Select the script you want executed on the device when speed lockdown is removed. |
Templates
Templates are HTML files that dictate how the home screen items are displayed on the device when it's in lockdown mode. You can use one of the SOTI MobiControl provided templates or create your own templates.
Custom Templates
To create a new custom template, click Add to open the Lockdown: Custom Templates dialog box.
You can edit, duplicate, or delete your custom templates.
