Exporting and Removing Personal Data

About this task

Privacy Settings enables you to permanently export and remove personal data. After a user's data is removed, their name is replaced by the 'anonymous' user on all related incidents and emails.
Note: This only removes user data from SOTI XSight. If the data also exists in SOTI MobiControl, it must be removed from there first and then from SOTI XSight.

To permanently remove user data from SOTI XSight or to export user data to a file:

Procedure

  1. Log into SOTI XSight as an administrator.
  2. On the menu bar, click the menu button Menu button and select Settings. The Settings view opens.
  3. On the left side of the Settings view, click Global then Privacy. The Privacy view is displayed on the left side of the Settings view.
  4. In the Export and remove personal datafield, type the name of the person whose data you want to permanently remove from SOTI XSight. As you start typing in this field, a list of matching results appears. The results are refined as you enter more characters.
  5. Click a name in the list to select it. The Remove Data and Export Data buttons are displayed.
  6. Warning: This operation is final and cannot be rolled back.
    Click Remove Data to permanently remove the selected user data from SOTI XSight.
  7. Click Export Data to export the user data to a JSON file.
