You may also selectively turn off device features with the Feature Control profile configuration. Applying the configuration at the individual or group level creates custom profiles for different users and locations in an organization. For example, turning Bluetooth and infrared ports on or off determines if device users can beam business cards, applications, or documents to one another.
Allow Application/Hardware Buttons | Enable the device user to use function buttons on the device that allow access to various applications (for example, internet browser, calendar, email, phone). Applies only to Pocket PC devices. |
Allow Desktop ActiveSync Connection | Enable the device user to use an ActiveSync connection on the device to transfer data to a computer using the ActiveSync or WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center) connection. |
Allow SD Card Auto-Execute | Enable programs and applications to automatically execute from an SD or flash memory card inserted in the device. You can use this feature to enable the installation of unauthorized applications on the device. |
Allow Phone | Enable the device user to make unauthorized voice calls on devices with phone capability. |
Allow Bluetooth | Enables the device to connect to Bluetooth networks or peripherals by enabling the device Bluetooth radio. |
