Database
This section of the System Overview dashboard (see System Overview Functionality) displays information about the SQL Server database the SOTI MobiControl instance uses:
- Host Name - The domain name of SQL Server where the SOTI MobiControl database is installed.
- SQL Edition - The type of the SQL Server installation; for example, Express or Enterprise.
- Version - The version of SQL Server.
- SOTI MobiControl Database - The actual name of the SOTI MobiControl database. Also shows:
- Drive - The name of the hard drive where the SOTI MobiControl database is installed. Not shown if the user account used to set up the connection with the SQL database does not have the Sysadmin permission for SQL Server.
- Hard Drive Space Used - The amount of space on the hard drive used by the SOTI MobiControl database.
- Hard Drive Space Left - The amount of free space on the hard drive available for the SOTI MobiControl database to grow further. For the SQL Express edition, the allocated space limit for the SOTI MobiControl database is 10 GB. This is used to calculate the "space left" value.
- SOTI MobiControl Archive Database - The actual name of the SOTI MobiControl archive database. Also shows:
- Drive - The name of the hard drive where the SOTI MobiControl Archive database is installed. Not shown if the user account used to set up the connection with the SQL database does not have the Sysadmin permission for SQL Server.
- Hard Drive Space Used - The amount of space on the hard drive used by the SOTI MobiControl Archive database.
- Hard Drive Space Left - The amount of free space on the hard drive available for the SOTI MobiControl Archive database to grow further. For the SQL Express edition, the allocated space limit for the SOTI MobiControl Archive database is 10 GB. This is used to calculate the "space left" value.
- Temp Database - The actual name of the Temp database that is set up on SQL Server. The Temp database is a critical system database used for operations that occur on SQL Server. SOTI MobiControl also frequently uses the Temp database. The Temp database does not run out of the hard drive space because it is required for operations such as re-indexing, updates, running store procedures, etc. Also shows:
- Drive - The name of the hard drive where the Temp database is installed. Not shown if the user account used to set up the connection with the SQL database does not have the Sysadmin permission for SQL Server.
- Hard Drive Space Used - The amount of space on the hard drive the Temp database uses.
- Hard Drive Space Left - The amount of free space on the hard drive available for the Temp database to grow further.
