Proxy Profile

The Proxy Profile profile configuration allows you to configure proxy settings for network connections to direct traffic through a designated proxy servers. You can configure multiple proxy connections to route traffic depending on your organization's needs. You can also add proxy exceptions as needed.

Add Proxy Click the Add button to add a new proxy server. For each new proxy server, select the proxy server type and enter the hostname and (optionally) the port number.
You can select one of the following proxy server types:
Web Proxy (HTTP) The device routes all HTTP traffic through this proxy server.
Secure Web Proxy (HTTPS) The device routes all HTTPS traffic through this proxy server.
FTP Proxy The device routes all FTP traffic through this proxy server.
SOCKS Proxy The device routes all traffic using the SOCKS protocol through this proxy server.
Streaming Proxy (RTSP) The device routes all traffic using the real time streaming protocol (RTSP) through this proxy server. This is recommended when using applications such as AirPlay.
Gopher Proxy The device routes all traffic using the Gopher protocol traffic through this proxy server.
Use Passive FTP Mode (PASV) When enabled, the FTP client operates in passive FTP mode.
Automatic Proxy Configuration Enter the URL of a proxy auto-configuration (PAC) file to define how web browsers and other user agents can automatically choose the appropriate proxy server (access method) for fetching a given URL.
Add Exceptions Click the Add button to add exceptions to traffic that would otherwise use a proxy server. For each exception, enter the domain name of the site you want to bypass the proxy.
Tip:
  • To bypass a single domain, enter the domain name. Example: apple.com
  • To bypass all websites on a domain, use an asterisk before the domain name. Example: *apple.com
  • To bypass a specific part of a domain, specify each part. Example: store.apple.com
