Setting SOTI MobiControl to Use a Syslog Server

Before you begin

Important: If you want to use Secure TCP to transfer information between SOTI MobiControl and your syslog server, you must install your syslog server certificate on the SOTI MobiControl host computer.

About this task

To configure SOTI MobiControl to send event log messages to a syslog server:

Procedure

  1. Set logging levels to determine how much information SOTI MobiControl should gather.
  2. In the legacy console, go to the All Platforms tab and choose the Servers tab.
  3. Under Global Settings, click the wrench icon beside Syslog Configuration.
  4. Click Enable Syslog Logging to activate the dialog box.
  5. Fill in the fields of the Syslog Configuration dialog box with the information for your syslog server.
    To use Secure TCP as your Protocol, you must have installed your syslog certificate on the SOTI MobiControl host computer.
  6. Click Send Test Message to test the connection.
  7. Click OK to save the syslog settings.
