Finder
The Finder profile configuration enables you to configure which Finder settings and actions are allowed on the user's macOS device.
Preferences
Use this tab to select the Finder type and desktop items to display.
Use Regular Finder | Display the regular Finder by default on the desktop. |
Use Simple Finder | Display the simple Finder by default on the desktop. |
Hard Disk | Show the device's hard disk icon on the desktop. |
External Disk | Show icons for any connect external disks on the desktop. |
CDs, DVDs, and iPods | Show icons for any inserted media on the desktop. |
Connected Server | Show icons for any connected servers on the desktop. |
Show warning before emptying the Trash | Display a warning prompt before emptying the Trash, to require the user to confirm that the operation should proceed. |
Commands
Use this tab to select the commands you want to make available to users.
Connect to Server | Enable the user to open a dialog box to find and connect to servers on a network. |
Eject | Enable the user to eject removable media and mountable volumes. |
Burn Disc | Enable the user to write permanent information to a CD or DVD. |
Go To Finder | Enable the user to open files or folders by typing the path name. |
Restart | Enable the user to access the restart command from the Apple menu. |
Shut Down | Enable the user to access the shutdown command from the Apple menu. |
Log Out | Enable the user to access the logout command from the Apple menu. |
