Android+ Speed Lockdown

Device lockdown replaces the standard device home screen with a customizable home screen. Users have access only to authorized applications and websites, and are prevented from accessing all other applications and device controls while on the road. This promotes greater safety by disabling distracting features on a mobile device while workers are on the road. See Android+ Lockdown for more information.

Device lockdown is not supported on Sony devices running Android L and above.

Speed Lockdown triggers when the device is going a certain speed, as set in the Advanced settings. The speed of the device is determined by utilizing the device's GPS unit. Using the device's GPS unit, MobiControl periodically checks the location of the device along with the time. It will then check again and determine the distance between the two points and calculate the device's speed.

Since there are times where there could be traffic, or stop lights, having the speed lockdown disengage and re-engage constantly will cause distraction to a driver. Because of this, the speed lockdown has engage and disengage functionalities. These and other settings can be configured by clicking .

Below are brief descriptions of each feature in the Advanced Speed Control settings.

Field	Description
Activate From, to	Specify the start time and end time during each day when you want speed control to be activated on the device.
Speed Control starts at	Enter the speed at which speed control will be triggered, and the speed measurement unit. Note: When the device travels at or above this speed, speed lockdown will not be applied until the time specified in the Engage Timer field has expired.
Engage Timer	Enter the time (in seconds) during which the device travels at or above the threshold speed before speed lockdown is applied. This delay helps prevent the excessive applying of speed lockdown.
Disengage Timer	Enter the time (in seconds) during which the device travels below the threshold speed before speed lockdown is removed. This delay helps prevent the excessive removal of speed lockdown.
Execute script on the mobile device during speed control	Select the script you want to be executed on the device when speed lockdown is applied. To add a new script, click Scripts to open the Manage Scripts dialog box.
