iOS Global HTTP Proxy

Administrators may set a specific global HTTP proxy through which all HTTP traffic for supervised devices will be routed. The Global HTTP Proxy supports either automatic or manual proxies.

To access the Global HTTP Proxy configuration dialog box, click the Add button in the Add Profile dialog box, then click Global HTTP Proxy under the Connectivity heading.

Automatic Configuration

 

If the automatic option is selected (default), In the "PAC File URL" field administrators have the option of specifying a URL where a proxy auto-config (PAC) file sits. Device(S) can retrieve the proxy settings from this file.

 

 

Manual Configuration

 

If the manual option is selected, the administrator must specify the server address and port for the proxy server. Administrators may also specify a UserName and Password for the chosen proxy server.
