iOS Single App Mode

The Single App Mode feature allows an administrator to lock a supervised iOS device to a single, specific app. You can use either App store apps or Enterprise apps. However, if using an Enterprise app, you must first add it to MobiControl via an application catalog rule or you will not able to select it in the Single App Mode profile configuration.

To access the Single App Mode configuration dialog box, click the Add button in the Add Profile dialog box, then click Single App Mode under the Security & Restrictions heading.

The following features can be enabled or disabled while using the Single App Mode:

The field for entering the Bundle ID will perform an incremental search on text that the user enters. The incremental search will attempt to do a partial match on the App Store's app names and App Store Bundle IDs.

Option	Description
Disable Touch	Prevents the user to be able to interact with the device via touch gestures such as tapping, swiping, pinching, etc.
Disable Device Rotation	Prevents the device to change the display orientation automatically from portrait to landscape or vice versa.
Disable Volume Buttons	Prevents the user to increase or decrease the volume using the physical buttons on the side of the device.
Disable Ringer Switch	Prevents the user to change the state of the device from ring to silent or vice versa. Notes: When disabled the ringer behaviour depends on what position it was in when first disabled.
Disable Sleep/Wake Button	Disables the power button that is located at the top of the device and is used to turn on/off the screen.
Disable Auto Lock	Disables the auto-lock feature and prevents the device from going into lock mode automatically.
Enable Voice Over	Enables accessibility voiceover option. The device will read everything out loud.
Enable Zoom	Enables the accessibility zoom option. User will be able to zoom anywhere on the device by double-tapping three fingers.
Enable Invert Colors	Enables the accessibility invert colors option. All the colors on the device will be inverted for people who have difficulties differentiating the colors.
Enable Assistive Touch	Enables the accessibility assistive touch option. Assistive touch allows users to access different device controls with only single touch.
Enable Speak Selection	Enables the accessibility speak selection option. This allows the user to select a text and have it read to them.
Enable Mono Audio	Enables the accessibility mono audio option. This option merges the sound on both left and right channels to a mono signal and it enhance the audio quality.

The following features can be enabled or disable by the individual user of the device:

Voice Over	Allows the user to make adjustments to the voiceover option. The device will read everything out loud when voiceover option is enabled.
Zoom	Allows the user to make adjustments to the zoom option. User will be able to zoom anywhere on the device by double-tapping three fingers when the zoom option is enabled.
Invert Colors	Allows the user to make adjustments to the invert colors option. All the colors on teh device will be inverted for people who have difficulties differentiating the colors with this option.
Assistive Touch	Allows the user to make adjustments to the assistive touch option such as creating new gestures, etc. Assistive touch allows user to access different device controls with only single touch.
